Emergency Food Pantry

Our emergency food pantry opened in 2007, prompted by a need expressed by many of our guests for food to carry them through dinnertime.

At first the pantry was stocked solely with donated items, but as demand grew, we began purchasing food and turned it into an emergency food pantry. It is the only food pantry in Charleston that is open on weekends. You can purchase food from our Amazon wish list here and have it shipped directly to our pantry.

Our food pantry is located at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier Street, and open daily from 7am–2pm, 365 days a year.

Donations for our food pantry can be dropped off at the back door between 7am and 2pm daily.

  • Canned meat (spam, chicken, Vienna sausages, tuna, ham, sloppy joes)

Cereal – any kind, bagged or box

    Peanut butter and jelly

    Canned soup

    Eggs

    Pasta and pasta sauce

    Macaroni and cheese

    Beanie Weenies

    Shelf stable milk

If you prefer to help stock the pantry by shopping online and shipping your items — that’s fine, too! You can view our wishlist or ship dry goods and household supplies to 1105 Quarrier St, Charleston, WV 25301.

Mobile Food Pantry

If you aren’t able to access our emergency pantry on the East End, visiting Manna Meal’s mobile food pantry is another option.

Our monthly mobile food pantry typically sets up at the old Save A Lot parking lot on the West Side from 4:30pm–5:30pm on the third Thursday of every month. This changes occasionally, so keep an eye on our Facebook page to stay informed of any calendar changes.

Initiated in 2021 in response to a fire that closed the local Family Dollar, our mobile food pantry provides ongoing, critical relief to food insecure residents on Charleston's West Side.

Support our efforts to prevent hunger in our community.
